Mission and Social Concern
The Board of Mission and Social Concern meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. The Board informs the congregation about local and global needs, organizes church members in mission projects, and allocates budget funds to a wide variety of relief agencies, including:

ABC Longmeadow invites disadvantaged students of color to live in and attend high school in Longmeadow.
Action Centered Tutoring Services provides faith-based, after-school tutoring for youth in Springfield.
CONASPEH supports growth of Protestant churches, education, medical clinics, and economic development in Haiti. An ad-hoc committee oversees this effort.
Faith in Action helps the elderly of Springfield maintain independence
Fuel Fund helps families of Greater Springfield pay for heating fuel.
Food Bank of Western MA provides emergency food to western Massachusetts.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Springfield works to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness.
Maine Seacoast Mission supports the needy of the islands off Maine.
Open Pantry Community Services provides services for the hungry, homeless, or disadvantaged of Springfield.
Our Church’s Wider Mission supports the collaborative local and global ministries of the United Church of Christ, including disaster relief, refugee assistance, advocacy for peace and human rights, and more.
The People’s Center collects and distributes clothes to the needy.
The Red Cross provides disaster relief, health and safety education, blood supplies, and other life-saving services internationally.
Resettlement assists refugee families from war-torn countries like Liberia. A subcommittee oversees this effort.
Springfield Citizen Advocacy advocates for handicapped adults.
Springfield Rescue Mission provides physical and spiritual support for the hungry, homeless, addicted, and poor.
Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Life Care cares for the ill and dying throughout the Pioneer Valley.
