The people of First Church are supportive and encouraging of one another. Some of us enjoy the fellowship of singing together in choir. Others gather for adult education programs or sewing circles. Prayer Shawl Ministry Since its formation in June 2004, the Prayer Shawl Ministry has created more than 100 shawls for those ill, grieving, or suffering in other ways. The shawls have given hope, peace, and healing to people as far away as New Mexico, Califonia, and Germany. New knitters are welcome in the ministry, either to knit at group meetings (held on the second Monday of the month) or on their own. To join, or to request a shawl, contact Ruth Sandow (567-8968).
