Youth
Ministry
The
Mission Statement of the Youth Ministry Committee is to "help
to maximize opportunities for personal growth, continue the
Christian education process, encourage healthy and enjoyable
social interaction, and promote active exploration and expression
of Christian faith." Youth Ministry encompasses the programs
for Middle School (6th-8th grades) and High School (9th -
12th Grades).
The
Middle School group (6,7 & 8th grades) meet at least once a
month, Sept. to June, middle schoolers are invited to fun and
exciting programs including: Movie Nights, Game Nights, and
opportunities to serve in and around the community.
Confirmation
is open to all youth 8th grade and above. It is intended to provide instruction and conversation about the
Christian faith, its practices, expressions, history and beliefs.
Class meet twice a month following worship from October to May.
Upon completion of this program, the students are invited to
become members of First Church.
The High School Youth Group is open to senior high youth (9 through
12 grades) and meet on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00PM. It is
led by the Associate Paston with other adult supervision. Programs
include retreats, games, discussions, service projects, Youth Leadership
Sunday, and a week long Mission Trip during the summer.
