Dan Inglis

A conductor, singer, voice teacher, multi-instrumentalist, music educator, and composer, Dan Inglis joined the staff of First Church of Christ in October, 2016. Dan previously served as Director of Music at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, one of the largest Roman Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Springfield, where he worked with three choirs and a large staff of organists and cantors to provide music for eight services every week.

Licensed in music education at UMass Amherst and educated at Hampshire College, Dan wrote his thesis on the nature and acquisition of musical ability. He student-taught with Kayla Werlin at Longmeadow High School, and became western New England’s only Certified Master Teacher of Estill Voice Training in 2013.

Dan maintains a busy private voice and piano studio, whose students are active in performance throughout the Pioneer Valley and elsewhere. He has recently added online lessons and now teaches in three time zones from his office in Northampton. His students include opera divas, aspiring rockers, music professionals, young children, and older adults.

Dan directs the barbershop chorus Pioneer Valley Chordsmen, sings with the Illuminati Vocal Arts Ensemble under the baton of Dr. Tony Thornton of UMass Amherst, and plays organ and piano with rock band Matt Byrde. Their new album, “Lost and Found in America,” is available on iTunes and Spotify and has been heard on radio stations across Massachusetts.
