Wanona's Kids

Help Us Meet Our Goal

For more than five decades, Wanona Dobbs (Mrs. Dobbs) has guided young people at First Church of Christ in Longmeadow through our Youth Ministries. Even at the age of 80 she continues to help our Pastor Doug Bixby lead our youth through one of life’s most meaningful spiritual milestones—confirmation. If you’re reading this, you might be one of “Wanona’s Kids,” and part of a legacy that continues today.

Now, we’re reaching out to you—and the
rest of that remarkable community—for a special reason.
This year, First Church is launching a once-in-a-generation capital campaign to restore and renew our historic building. We’re undertaking major renovations: restoring the exterior, replacing outdated roofs, restoring windows, modernizing our elevator, improving accessibility and safety, and upgrading key systems to ensure the church remains a vibrant, welcoming space for generations to come.

As part of this campaign, we’re inviting 100 of Wanona’s Kids to pledge $1,000 each in her honor. Together, that’s $100,000—a powerful tribute to Wanona’s ministry and a meaningful investment in the church that shaped your early spiritual journey.

You can actually give more or less than $1,000 to reach our goal. We will list your name in this tribute no matter what you are able to contribute.

You can give the full amount now or spread it out over the next three years, your participation would be both meaningful and significant. We hope you’ll join this special circle of givers to honor someone who gave so much to so many students.

You can give through PayPal using the
link provided or you can send checks through the mail to First Church of Christ, 763 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow MA 01106. Also, if you have any pictures of you or your
group with Wanona, please send those too.
You can email pictures to office@firstchurchlongmeadow.org. Thanks for your participation. We hope this will honor
Wanona in a significant way.
